SQL Server 2008
January 2008 Update
According to a
Microsoft blog posting, SQL Server 2008 will be delayed until at least the
third quarter of 2008.
Community Technology Previews (CTPs) have come out slower than anticipated so this
doesn't come as a surprise to many.
The current plan (though plans could change) is to release:
- A full featured CTP for the Heroes Happen Here event in February 2008.
- A Release Candidate (RC) in Q2 of 2008.
- A final Release to Manufacturing (RTM) in Q3 2008.
Don't expect the MCITP certification for SQL Server 2008 until 2009.
Dec 2007
It's on the horizon.
While it won't be ready for release until probably summer
of 2008, there are Community Technology Preview (CTP) editions that can be downloaded.
So what about the SQL Server 2008 MCITP Certifications? Don't expect them
soon.
Microsoft originally scheduled a Live Meeting for November 14th, 2007. It
was rescheduled for December 12th.
The December 12th meeting was rescheduled for Feb 6th 2008.
In the email that Microsoft sent to me letting me know of the cancelled meeting,
they including links on the SQL Server 2005 certifications.
